TRACS utility
software, which runs on
the corporate host computer, is
provided with the Sales Power
system. This utility software
controls the movement of your
customer data to a staging area
on the host computer.
Another TRACS data
transfer utility, also
provided with Sales Power, runs
on the intermediating PC and pulls
the data from the corporate computer
into the Microsoft
Access database, also running
on the intermediating PC. Access
can be purchased locally at retail.
It may also be purchased as part
of a suite of applications such
as Office 97 or Office 2000; most
companies already have some version
of Access within their organization.
If you have earlier versions,
they generally may be upgraded
at a fraction of their original
cost.
The Sales Power software from
Compu-Power is loaded onto
the HPC / laptop by CPI staff;
it provides the functionality,
previously mentioned, to your
field salespersons. All salespersons
will have their own mobile device,
but only one intermediating PC
is used to synchronize all mobile
devices. Sales management then
can analyze the sales effectiveness
in all sales territories collectively,
yet can also perform an individual
analysis of each salesperson’s
territory or account base.
The operating system for the HPC,
Microsoft’s
Windows CE Pro, is included
with the Sales Power system. The
Active Sync software tool is included
with Windows CE Pro and controls
data transfer between the HPC
and the intermediating PC automatically.
